CHAPTER 3:

THE MUGLER HERITAGE TODAY

01

The show must go on

Casey Cadwallader, MUGLER’s Artistic Director since 2018, pushes the brand’s values even further. Each silhouette is a new work of art, each curve is emphasized and highlighted by his creations. From life to the stage, the designer dresses performers of the day-to-day like the biggest stars: red carpets, music videos, shows, magazine covers; no platform escapes the MUGLER touch.

Likewise, each MUGLER olfactory creation projects the consumer into an extraordinary and enchanting universe, where unique stories are designed by the MUGLER Studio and put into images by talented directors and photographers.

Its mission: to provide unique experiences for women who desire to invent their own lives and build authentic relationships with them.

Architecture

ARCHITECTURE THAT LASTS

Just as Monsieur Mugler did, Casey Cadwallader wants to sculpt their bodies, to use them as his raw material. His “spiral jeans”, in particular, are a true anatomical masterpiece that completely re-imagines the silhouette of those who wear them. The impact of the places he uses as a backdrop for his campaigns and fashion shows is equally as important: They are the stages where MUGLER’s spirit is celebrated with an explosion of creativity, where innovative silhouettes and bold line-ups all blend together.

Likewise, the MUGLER perfume creation studio perpetuates this dedication to architectural design in its increasingly innovative bottles.

A HERITAGE THAT CONTINUES TODAY

The Mugler heritage has lost none of its magic. It is more alive and relevant than ever. Firstly, on the red carpets. The Thierry Mugler collection archives, carefully preserved by the Maison, continue to dress celebrities from around the world who dream of wearing the brand’s exceptional creations.

Finally, in museums. Thus, the Thierry Mugler Couturissime exhibition, curated by Thierry-Maxime Loriot, opened its doors at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in 2019. Retracing Thierry Mugler’s career and collections from 1973 to 2001, the exhibition will travel to Rotterdam and Munich before continuing its world tour to where it all began: Paris, in 2021.
