Mugler brand: pioneer of sustainable luxury

The Mugler Fountain idea was inspired by the 18th century high society’s perfume fountains. Admirer of this tradition, Monsieur Mugler brought it up to date in 1992 with the release of Mugler’s Angel perfume. A turning point that changed the fragrance world. The brand is now paving the way for ethical fragrance luxury, championing responsible development, waste reduction, and a luxury refilling service.

The fountain has made the semi-handcrafted star perfume bottle even more precious. Not only does it allow Mugler fragrances lovers to keep their beloved bottles, it also makes its perfumes as accessible as possible. This is why the brand constantly upgrades this centuries-old tradition of perfume fountains, enabling customers to refill bottles endlessly.

Apart from the object itself, the Mugler perfume Fountain is a unique ritual and beauty advisors are its best ambassadors. Here, broken caps and spray nozzles are promptly replaced. And, like every precious stone, the refilled bottles come with a traceable certificate of authenticity. This professional service is a responsible form of luxury, pioneered by Mugler, reflecting the brand’s spikiness and singularity.

Mugler fragrances: made from precious raw materials

For Mugler, rare and precious fragrances are created around the most beautiful raw materials nature has to offer. This is why the brand is collaborating with special partners to create a community of stakeholders committed to responsible development projects. All ingredients are selected and worked with the respect and preservation of ecosystems. When raw materials are especially rare or too expensive in terms of natural resources, the brand favors synthetic ingredients-based formulations to replace it. More than ever, Mugler wants to promote the protection of natural resources and fair compensation for producers with the aim of developing an ethical, responsible supply chain. With creativity and boldness, sustainable and respectful luxury is possible.

Zoom on Mugler's pillar ingredients

The whole brand’s pillar scents are created with ethically sourced materials and thought to be more sustainable every time. Each fragrance has a main sustainable pillar ingredient and its own sourcing characteristics.

Patchouli in the Angel perfume

The patchouli ingredient, Angel’s Eau de Parfum signature ingredient, is collected and distilled on the island of Sulawesi. It is obtained through the Givaudan Sourcing for Shared Value program, committed to guarantee the best possible agricultural practices to minimize the environmental impact.

The unique Mugler rose accord
in the Angel Nova perfume

The unique Mugler rose accord in Angel Nova Eau de Parfum results from roses’ double extraction. A signature fragrance, created from upcycling and biotechnology. After a first distillation, petals and natural residues are distilled a second time to obtain this unique essence, developed exclusively for Mugler.

Bourbon Vanilla in Alien Goddess

The lingering notes of the Alien Goddess perfume are an endless trail of the addictive Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla. We use sustainable grown and highest quality vanilla pods, infused through an extraction technology that captures the full organoleptic profile at the heart of raw materials.

Jasmin Sambac in Alien

A pure, rare, and precious ingredient. Sambac jasmine used in the Alien perfume is carefully selected by the IFF-Laboratoire Monique Rémy perfumery house through its partner Nesso based in the city of Mysore, in southern India. This sustainable program makes it possible to control the traceability as well as to offer fair wages working conditions to producers.
